Practice owner | Physiotherapist
Bachelor of Exercise Science, Master of Physiotherapy

A lifelong love affair with being active and a fascination with the human body has transpired into a career as a Physiotherapist.
On a practical level this translates to: I help people overcome the movement and mobility challenges that present, or are present in their lives. My career as a Physiotherapist started after graduating from The Queensland University of Technology in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Movement Studies. Not knowing exactly what I wanted to do with the degree, I spent nearly decade working as a personal trainer and in fitness administration and management with Zest Health Clubs, Goodlife Health Clubs and Jetts Fitness.

The allied health profession must have been calling my name as after opening a small but successful Pilates Studio in Toowoomba (2015), I knew I wanted go beyond the gym floor and reformers and to find my way back to a career in allied health. So, after alot of thinking about becoming a Physiotherapist, I took action. “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.”– Lao Tzu.
I practice predominantly in the area of Gerentological Physiotherapy in the Community, Aged Care, NDIS and disability sectors and am an old soul at heart.

Payments & Fees
Private Patients
YMPT accepts private patients. Doctors referrals are also welcome, but not necessary. Payment is made via an invoice and secure link, sent directly from practice management software. Submit the paid invoice to your health fund provider to seek a rebate.

Private Health
If you’re one of many Australians with a health condition that requires physiotherapy, private health insurance can help cover the investment. Your extras health insurance can cover (up to the limits of your policy) initial physiotherapy consultations, follow-up consultations, treatment plans and rehabilitation.
Some extras policies will also cover other physiotherapy treatments and products, like:
-
Antenatal therapies for pregnant women
-
Compression-wear
-
Dry needling
-
Electrotherapy
-
Group classes
-
Hydrotherapy

Most health funds provide a rebate of $20 to $50 per session. Some providers may provide a 70-80% rebate, depending on your cover. If you'd like to determine your rebate prior to your appointment, speak to your insurer directly.

Medicare
Bulk billing in Australia is a system where-by the Australian Government via Medicare subsidises your investment in health care. This means we as registered allied health practitioners can bill the government directly for part of the service fee, while the remainder are out of pocket. This means full payment is required at the time of consultation, and a rebate can be processed if you are eligible. To access Medicare, visit your GP to determine if Physiotherapy and/or another clinician is recommended to treat your condition. Depeding on your GP's assessment, you may receive a referral to a Physiotherapist. Your referral will include any relevant information about chronic health conditions that need management. Even though your GP can refer you to Physiotherapy, you don't need a referral to see a Physiotherapist as we are what's known as first contact practitioners. This means you can book direct without a referral. Invest in our health and book today.

NDIS
Self Managed: An invoice will be sent at time of consultation, payment is due within 7 days.
Plan Managed: An invoice will be sent at time of consultation. Please head to our NDIS page here for more information about YMPT and NDIS.
NDIA Managed: Unable to service

DVA
As of 01/01/2025 YMPT will no longer be accepting DVA patients. The Australian Government has not changed the remuneration Physiotherapists receive adequately and therefore it does not cover the minimum cost of doing business. Please write to your local member of parliament if you'd like to see change in this space.

Telehealth
Private patients: Full payment is required at time of consultation with payments being processed via our online terminal with credit card details over the phone.
Health Insurance: Many providers are starting to recognise the benefits of telehealth. Full payment is required at time of consultation and a rebate is applied after this, the same as if the payment was being processed in person.
Medicare: The gap will be payable at time of consultation with payments being processed via our online terminal with credit card details over the phone.
